Bridge Product Fabrication
At Selco, we have extensive experience fabricating steel components for infrastructure projects. We have a fully equipped machine shop with an expansive range of fabrication capabilities. Our shop includes:
- A 40’ CNC drill beamline
- A 40’ Anglemaster
- Multiple on-site cranes that can lift up to 10 tons
- 6 press brakes with up to 220 tons of capacity
Our team is AISC-certified for bridges and a variety of bridge components, including:
- Marine components
- Overhead catenary systems
- Rail/transit components
Bridges typically have large steel or concrete railings that improve safety for users of the structure while also offering aesthetic value. Our extensive expertise and many years of experience with complex infrastructure projects make us an ideal partner for fabricating large structural components for bridges. The team at Selco has fabricated many bridge railings for a variety of bridge types.
Our fully equipped fabrication shop has all of the equipment necessary to manufacture bridge components of all sizes. Our capabilities include bending, heavy cutting, plasma cutting, rapid punching, forming, heavy weldments, electrical wiring, assembly, and much more. Each member of our welding team is AWS-certified and capable of performing a broad range of operations.

We offer cast copper connectors in types A, B, C, E, F, and G. We also fabricate pothead assemblies, multi-outlet copper connectors, and cast copper bus connectors.
Our disconnect switches range from 20 to 6000 amps. Some of our most popular disconnect switch offerings include:
- Wayside, substations, and pole-mounted disconnect switches
- Silver ball switches
- Bolted pressure switched
- Knife switches (with or without quick-break mechanism)

Tappan Zee Bridge
Our work on the Tappan Zee Bridge illustrates our ability to pinpoint unique solutions to structural problems. This project required 3,000 mechanical brackets to support the mainline longitudinal run of the fire standpipe and compressed airline systems for the approach spans.
We also completed pier cap transverse walkways, which were fully assembled in modules ranging from 20–30 feet, with each walkway ranging between 65–100 feet. The total area of all walkways amounted to about 10,000 square feet.
Benjamin Franklin Bridge
The Benjamin Franklin Bridge project necessitated a total replacement of the bridge’s existing chambers. Each chamber was swapped for a new, stainless steel upgrade that includes structural steel support framing and diamond plate flooring. Our team also added fixation channels and impedance bond walkways to improve efficiency and safety.
Willis Avenue Bridge
We furnished the entirety of the two-rail bridge railing on the Willis Avenue Bridge. We fabricated more than 6,000 feet of picket fencing for the bridge, its ramps, and its walkways, as well as more than 1,300 feet of steel handrail.
